About Me
不可忘记用爱心接待客旅,因为曾有接待客旅的,不知不觉就接待了天使。 【来13:2】
Don't neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.
**NOTICE**
PLEASE read the following information before sending me any requests otherwise your request may be potentially turned down or ignored.
Since I moved to Chiangmai and opened my house for CSers a few weeks ago, I have received tons of requests and felt a tiny bit overwhelmed, thus I'd like to specify a few things to avoid any unexpected incidents and save both of our time.
I’m renting a house currently and my landlord doesn't prefer me to bring different strangers back home for my good. However, since I have joined CS many years ago and I'd like to pass down the love I have received from my previous hosts, I'm still opening my house for the persons who's really in need and truly into meeting new people and exchanging culture with the following conditions.
1. In order to avoid any misunderstanding and save trouble, I expect you to keep a low file and try not to draw any unnecessary attention or bring any inconvenience to my neighbors because they are constantly checking on me in a caring way and may possibly tell on me to my landlord once they feel any uncomfortableness. And your awareness and cooperation on this aspect is greatly appreciated.
2. My location is kinda in the southern part which is about 10 kilometers away from the city center. If you are a party animal and prefer to stay closer to the old city, my place might not be an ideal choice for you.
3. Personally, I am more available on the weekends and if you request to stay at my place within the week, I won't be able to hang out with you that much or show you around most of the time. To be honest, weekend requests are more favored and welcomed.
4. There's no AC in the guest room except for a fan.
5. The last but not the least, I personally expect you to be a nice, clean and respectful person. If you happen to share the same interests with me, that would be awesome.
Above all, after viewing the above-mentioned notice and requirements, if you have no problem with them and still feel like staying at my place, then you are warmly welcomed. btw, please add " I have read your notice" at the end of your request message so that I know you truly have read the notice and are aware of the things I have mentioned other than sending massive group requests. Thanks for your patience, understanding and time.
Now it's time to get to know a little bit about me:
My name is Daniel Heman Deng, an English & Chinese teacher / an interpreter & translator. I personally take myself as an easy-going, kind, open-minded, trustworthy and slightly extroverted person. I like to meet people from different background and culture, and I am very fascinated about various cultures/customs around the world. From my previous travel experiences as well as my living experiences in different countries, I have deeply felt the charm of interacting with people from all walks of life. To be frank, those people who are in different color, speaking different languages and coming from different religion more or less helped me shape the value I'm upholding now. Therefore, no matter where you are from, what languages do you speak, what belief you are having and what your sexuality is, if you are an open-minded person and would like to share and exchange, then you are more than welcome to send me a request. And I'm always ready for wonderful stories and incredible in-person experiences.
As a person who loves to travel and explore the world, I deeply understand how hard it is when you are unable to communicate with locals in the course of your travel and how overwhelming it is when you have no ideas what's the best place to visit or what's the specialty to experience. With some help or advice from the locals, your traveling experiences will definitely be enriched doubly. Therefore, if I happen to be unable to host you, you are always welcomed to reach out for help or advice. Btw, I’m also open for meeting up for fun or grabbing food or drinks together. In whatever cases, plz feel free to drop a message at anytime and I will be easily found by the following apps.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I had my first CS experience in September of 2017 in Vietnam which turned out to be a super duper awesome experience so I decided to pass down the love and hospitality I have received in the hope of helping those who seek for an accommodation and/or traveling tips. On top of that, meeting people from different background and culture and sharing life stories with each other is definitely a once-in-a-blue moon opportunity to open up my mind and have a glimpse of the global village. Moreover, there are opportunities to hang out with people who share the same interests/hobbies or join different activities/events which definitely enrich our mundane lives to some extent. Overall, Couchsurfing is an amazing platform for both hosts or travelers to explore, learn and grow.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I don't have any specific preferences in music and I listen to Tom Odell, Isak Danielson, Lana de Rey, Coldplay, MADILYN, Novo Amor, Anson Sebra, Kodaline etc.
MOVIES: I love any kind of tear-jerkers and you could try me out.
BOOKS: I love reading and my goal is to read at least 12 books per year.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I joined a non-profit organization to serve orphans in 2015 which in turn helped me realize how blessed I am to have a loving family and afterwards I started visiting them in a regular basis to spend time with them and take care of them. Later on, I even witnessed the kids I was taking care of to be adopted and start their new lives in America. Nowadays, we are still in touch with other and I’m very happy for them.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching: As a language teacher, I can always teach you some basic Chinese if you are interested. Also, I can teach you to cook one or two authentic Chinese dishes since I'm crazy about cooking if time or condition allows.
Learning: Personally, I am very into exotic culture and I am open for everything such as arts, sports, history and literature, etc. If there's anything you'd like to teach or share, I'm always ready to learn.
Sharing: From my point of view, I think LOVE is the most common language we all speak in this world. Therefore, I would like to share my testimony of converting from a so-called buddhist to a Christian and explain how have I received the love from God if you don’t mind. Besides, if we happen to have the same hobby, we could definitely talk about it or even work on it together. Or if you are a good listener, I have numerous life stories too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with you my life-changing stories , traveling experiences and Chinese culture if you are interested. Besides, I can cook some Chinese food, especially Sichuan hot pot so that you could have a shallow taste of Chinese food culture. Also, I love photographing and we can always hang out to take some great pictures or simply have fun together. The last but not the least, I wish I could bring you love, joy and peace.
