About Me

Travel addict always chasing sun, water, and great people. For the last 8 years, I have been flying somewhere once a month to surf, hike, trek, and adventure. Usually somewhere warm and tropical to get a change of pace from the mountains of Colorado.

I recently bought an adventure van cause I would like to see more of my home country via the road. Hopefully do alot of snowboarding, climbing, hiking and meeting extraordinary people along the way. With that in mind, I believe I can be an easy guest to folks as my van is equipped to sleep, shower, cook, etc. I may just need a parking spot from time to time if the host doesn't have time to interact. Also, I have a home on a lake in Denver and house in Todos Santos, Mexico that could be if service to folks in return.

I have a 2.5 year old daughter named Kai Malaya who is with me half the time, and with her mom half the time. She has travelled to more places already than most people do in a lifetime, and is a young wanderer in training. She probably won't be with me couchsurfing ever, but you may meet her if I am ever hosting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I freed up some time at work this year, bought an adventure van (Winnebago Revel 4x4), and plan to be on the road alot finding great adventures.

I know I am new on here but I know this type of community very well. I have slept on dirt floors in the jungles of Nicaragua and slept many a night in hostels or new friends we met just that day.

Interests

As you can see I am very active. I wouldn't consider myself an expert in any one thing but just love to be outdoors or meeting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly read books on yoga or interesting people. But I read alot, probably 1 book a month, and I have read the some books 10 times.

I'm an avid movie watcher, list is too big.

Mostly listen to 60s and 70s rock, folk, anything classic. I have had my share of dance/festival nights too in my heyday. My dad was a musician and my mom has really good taste in music so i guess I listen to my parent's music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a couple businesses from scratch, some wildly successful, some complete failures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I ask alot of questions, generally because I am so intrigued about what makes people who they are. I listen very well (learned this trait, wasn't a born listener). I am the guy who usually knows more about a person in one day than some people who have been friends for years.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I tend to get along with everyone, and can find common interests with all walks of life. I have traveled alot in the last 10 years and have built some pretty cool business too, so I may have an interesting story or some good business advice for someone. I am a yogi too, so my perspective on things is quite humble.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Costa Rica, Curaçao, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama
