About Me

I'm a 26 year old adventurer from southern Texas but I feel I have more of the West coast, laid back vibe. I consider myself a friendly, outgoing, open-minded, honest, loyal, accepting, and fun person! I love to meet new people and hear their travels stories and tips and share mine as well. I always do my best to be conscious and considerate of my surrounding company and allow things to flow naturally. I really enjoy hearing about things that people are passionate about.

I always pick up after myself and also like lending a helping hand in any way I can, be it chores, a project, trying to whip something up in the kitchen, or lending some advice from an outsiders perspective.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling has been my passion since I first moved away from Texas to Key West, Florida when I was 17. Getting outside of the southern conservative bubble for the first time and experiencing that people live completely different lifestyles depending on their geographic location fascinated me! I traveled around the U.S. for roughly 7 years as I wanted to get to know my own country before exploring others, but have recently made my first international travel, a 7 month motorcycle adventure through SE Asia. Being a young man that lives simply and frugally to save for travels, couch surfing allows me to save money on accommodation, and even better gives me a chance to make new friends that are usually like-minded travelers and adventurers, and I've made some life-long friends with some of my hosts. I always say, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, you'll have a great time if you're in good company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most types of music. Different sounds for different moods, but with a preference for music that resonates with my soul (Nahko and Medicine For The People, Trevor Hall, Wookiefoot, Mike Love, Matisyahu, Dustin Thomas, Twiddle). I also love some funk and brass (Lettuce, Griz, The Motet, Dumpstaphunk, Trombone Shorty, Big Gigantic), Jam Bands (SCI, Grateful Dead, STS9, Lotus, Tauk, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong), and last but certainly not least, I love some filthy, grimey, ground and booty shaking Bass music (Yheti, Bassnectar, Snails, BPSM, The Floozies, Zeds Dead, Crizzly, GJones, Space Jesus).

My favourite movies are usually Comedies. Anything by Seth Rogan or Adam Sandler usually tickles my fancy. Arthur, Bad Boys 2, Cloud Atlas, Dazed and Confused, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Half Baked, Indiana Jones, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Knocked Up, Liar Liar, Marley and Me, National Treasure, O Brother Where Art Thou, Pineapple Express, Quest for Camelot, Rush Hour 1-3, TBC...

The Art Of Happiness, Be Here Now, Ishmael, The Four Agreements, The Devil and Miss Prym, The Alchemist, Swimming to Cambodia, Zen,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, coming from a pretty conservative family in Texas, taking the leap of faith and following my dreams of traveling and leaving the "Normal" life behind to live out of a backpack and explore the world, is pretty amazing! But I think the most amazing things I've done have come from my travels and being able to inspire people to follow their dreams as well!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that certain people's paths are destined to cross. That we're all teachers and we're all students.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories from my travels, travel tips, good conversation, cold beers, massages (foot massages are my specialty), a helping hand, open ears to listen, and sometimes even some gifts :)

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Mexico, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Cambodia, United States
