About Me

Hello everybody...

My name is Daniel Hare, I'm 25 and I currently live at my parents home in Cornwall, CT(This means at the moment I am unable to host, sorry). Currently I'm looking for professional type work, I just graduated college and looking to start a career. My two main goals at the moment are moving out of my parents house and gaining independence, and eventually moving abroad to teach english.

And thats all the boring stuff anyways. I'm a very friendly guy, I enjoy meeting new people and traveling. I have a variety of interests and love to learn. Personally, I think its so cool that sites like this exists. It allows everyone to travel on a more personal and ethical level.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on here originally because i realized I needed a place to stay in Philadelphia for an interview. Hotel rooms in Philly were pretty much out of my reach. But this sites potential now I realize is much more than that. The world feels like a smaller and friendlier place when I scroll through profiles/hosts on here.

Interests

I have a lot, and although I spend a lot of my time on the internet I really appreciate the outdoors. Hiking, walking, biking and basically any kind of sport are things I enjoy doing. But since its winter around here at the moment I pretty much read a lot, play guitar, listen to new music and try to get out for the occasional walk or ski for the day. I also play a lot of card and board games with my friends during the evenings. I do enjoy the occasional joint as well to inspire me and help me relax for the day, however its not like a necessity for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music more than anything. I could go all day talking about it. My favorites change all the time for these types of categories but for music its currently The War On Drugs, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Future Islands and Daft Punk. But I also enjoy the classics like Paul Simon or Bruce Springsteen, a couple of my more consistent listens are bands like Modest Mouse or The Talking Heads.

I enjoy Clint Eastwood movies, Kung Fu movies, horror movies, but recently I've been watching this show called MST3K.

I read a lot of novels and biographies. Writers like Sedaris, Ishiguro and Eggers are a couple of my favorites. Recently I just read Fahrenheit 451 and a Leonard Cohen biography.
