Hello! I'm a doctor living in Vienna, Austria. I'm using Couchsurfing for the first time (2018), even though I'm quite familiar with hosting travelers in Vienna, as well as crashing on couches during my travels.

Obviously, I like traveling (duh!). Coming from Central Europe and growing up in temperate climate, deserts put me at risk of heatstroke, but this won't stop me.

My dear friend Magdalena and me are traveling to Iran in March 2018. It will be our first time in the country which is much praised for its hospitable and kind people. We are very, very much looking forward to meeting Iranians and would welcome any suggestions during our trip.

Wherever possible, we would be thankful for a place to sleep and local guides (time allowing). We'll try to bring as much austrian chocolate with us as our backpacks can hold!

I have come to realize that the most memorable moments during my travels were always connected to either expected or unexpected encounters with local people. Even though I consider myself very open-minded, it can be hard sometimes to start conversations with strangers (Yes, we Austrians can be a little shy at the beginning, until we start to open up). I appreciate learning from these encounters and developing myself.
