Overview
About Me
21 year old Australian, born of Chinese and Italian parents. I study international relations and am currently planning my exchange to Malta :)
Some of my hobbies include photography, reading and writing, just the general appreciation of any art form, be it music, painting, dance, or street performance. I also enjoy playing a range of sports, from tennis to soccer. I also bike ride quite often.
I like to think I have a open minded approach to life, and I hope that Couchsurfing can help me broaden my perspective even further.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because of the allure of the idea of meeting and forming connections with like minded people around the world. As much as I love and cherish my friends from home, I reserve a special sense of excitement and interest for the people I meet on a night out, or in a new place, who are travelers or have come from another place. One such example which sticks in my head, and I have been boring my friends with ever since is, a night out on chapel street (a strip in Melbourne infamous for its night life) I was in the smokers area just sitting waiting for my friends to join me. It was extremely crowded and I had people at both elbows. Deciding to strike a conversation with one of the people around me, I met a guy called Suljo. As we introduced ourselves and engaged in chit chat, I noticed that he had an interesting accent, so I naturally asked where he was from. He initially said Bosnia but had been living in Russia for the past 3 years. I continued to question, fascinated at how he had ended up in this smokers area, half way across the world. One thing lead to another and I was told a remarkable story of his journey. His story was not one of great happiness or light; he and his brothers had been dealing drugs to support his younger sister who was in primary school, and by his own words, he had given up on academic or trade success in his own life, he only wanted to create a potential future for his sister.
I might seem a little long winded, but I feel like that story highlights my passion for meeting new people and sharing our stories, because the world is a big place, filled with people with perspectives which we would all benefit from sharing in :)
Interests
As said above, I enjoy many forms of art. ALL music, movies, literature, paintings, dance, really anything and everything.
Sports, tennis would have to be my favorite, followed by cycling. But I play futsal weekly which I am slowly getting better at :')

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favorite music (what I'm listening to currently) : Rachmaninov, Chopin, Mahler (having a classical phase), Above and Beyond, Cosmic Gate, BADBADNOTGOOD, Disclosure, Showtek, Wu Tang, Earl Sweatshirt and many, many more.
But I can appreciate all genres, as all of them required a special type of passion and dedication to produce, and you can't knock that ;)
