About Me

My name is Daniel and I will be traveling to Bloomington soon to attend the university in hopes of earning my PhD in theoretical physics. I am flat broke (not to mention the student debt) and do not have money to find a place of my own until I get my first stipend. I am looking for something a little more lengthy than a weekend or a week (but if that's all I can find then I'll take that). I would be willing to do housework, yardwork, etc. (not sure how this works as I have never been couch surfing before).

I am easy going, pretty open minded, and in addition to needing a place to stay would like to get out of this comfort zone I've been living in and meet new and interesting people. I love traveling, having conversations, reading, playing sports, and being outside. I am well educated and well read.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need a place to stay while I'm in town. I will be attending IU beginning 6/21 for my first summer of research and they don't have housing for grad students but they also wont pay me until a few weeks into the program. Also, I think this is a very cool way to travel and meet new and interesting people I would otherwise never have a chance to meet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some friends and I took a 2 week road trip through the Dakotas, Montana, Colorado, and that general part of the US. We explored the badlands and saw the Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore, we took psychadelic mushrooms, we camped and couch surfed in a way (a friend's mother, who is pot farmer and grows all her own food and raises her own livestock, has a place in the rockies, let us stay with her in exchange for some chores including chopping a tree down and into fire wood). It was an amazing trip and to this day one of my most fond memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have many experiences and stories I would love to share and I love to hear other people's stories and views on life. I have 2 degrees in physics and mathematics, respectively. I am going to Bloomington to earn my PhD in Theoretical Cosmology. I am the type of person that if I have something then my friend has it too and I'm pretty friendly.
