About Me

Ahoi.

My name is Daniel and I'm your friendly next door nerd. But don't worry this doesn't mean that I'm shy or even socially awkward.

Besides Geek culture I also enjoy going out for a drink with friends and I really like football (soccer). I'm a supporter of Tasmania Berlin, a small local football team that currently plays in Germany's 6th divison.

I work as a freelance programmer and game developer. In my current job as a teacher for Video Game Development I have the great opportunity to share my knowledge with others and the chance to inspire the next generation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll try to visit a football (soccer) match in every country I'm visiting.
When I was in Indonesia all games were called off due to a player's strike.
However I found some local football supporters and got invited to some sort of gathering. I went with them (on a motor bike) and found out it was the club's 86th anniversary.

There were about 7000 people (I've been told) and some bands played on a stage (mostly Oi and punk rock). Between two bands they asked if anybody would come to the stage and say a few words.

The crowd pushed me up to the stage and so there I was, standing in front of some thousand fans.
