About Me

Hi, I'm Daniel.
I'm an Irish guy who just spent the past four years working or studying abroad. This includes almost two years studying in Spain, a year teaching in Japan and another year teaching in Korea. Finally, I can use my free time to travel! I've been excited to engage on my trip across Europe for the longest time. I aim to discover myself on this journey.
I have a few hobbies! I enjoy cooking various dishes from all over the world! I really like meeting new people (evidently from all the traveling I've done). I love learning about history and cultures from all over the world! A big interest of mine that I like to share is playing boardgames for many many hours!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to learn about others and meet new people. I don't want to get stuck in a drinking trap with other people who are traveling. I'd like to get to know the places much more intimately by meeting the locals and having a nice time! I mostly want to learn about the places I visit so I can grow and develop as a result.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm fond of music such as lofi, and chilled mixes but also high octane stuff like hardcore and synthwave!
I'm a huge fan of political theory books such as authors like David Graeber or fantasy books by authors such as Brandon Sanderson.
I'm not the biggest fan of movies but I am really into Korean films as of late with Parasite being one of the best films I've seen recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Honestly, it's hard to say one amazing thing. If i have to label one thing I'll say that even though I am finished with teaching abroad for now, teaching students has been an absolute joy! The amount of wonderful kids I've taught was humbling and inspiring.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some cool stories from my time abroad. Wicked skills at playing boardgames, or even share in making some food.

Countries I’ve Visited
