My name is Daniel and I love adventure. I spent 8 years in the Marine Corps and now live in Fort Worth going to school and working full time. Fortunately my job allows me flexibility to chase tornados, hunt, hike, fish and do one or two extended kayak trips a year. I do photography on the side and hope to begin making money via landscape prints here soon ( you can see my website at www.drodphoto.net) I love meeting new people and learning their stories and I travel frequently throughout the year. I am also a Pro-Staffer/Kayak Fishing Team member for Mountain Sports in Arlington, Texas so if you need to re-provision or outfit for anything I can steer you in the right direction.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I do a lot of traveling and tornado chasing in the spring, and quite frankly it is an EXPENSIVE hobby! I'd like to minimize that cost while reciprocating the gesture in the adventure community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived a record setting flood in June of 2014 where myself and my crew had to be rescued via helicopter and lost all of our equipment including kayaks, tents etc. We were on day 4 of a 6 day trip living out of our kayaks on the Pecos River in southwest Texas.
