About Me

As a child, I moved around a lot; only spending three or four years in one place before we moved on again. when I was young, I hated not having a fixed home/hometown, but as I got older, I accepted that this is who I am. Travel, adventure and exploration is in my blood. As an adult I have embraced this lifestyle.

After high school I became a sailor. For five years the sea was my home. Then, I went to university - studying a bachelor's in Criminology and a master's in Human Rights Law - but I continued to travel as much as possible during my breaks; backpacking in Southeast Asia and interrailing in Europe.

On completion of my studies I decided to travel and work abroad for at least five years before settling into a career. But, in 2020, whilst living in Sydney, Australia, the pandemic struck and I was forced to return to the UK after only two years away.

I worked at a university in England for one year before deciding to set off on an adventure, attempting to travel from England to China without taking a plane. Due to covid and conflicts, border closures and visa issues, I only made it as far as Iran and had to turn back and wait for circumstances to change. After fifteen months of travel, with money dwindling, I decided to return to the UK and work for another six months.

Now, I am back on the road. I recently completed a journey in South Asia, following the route of the Grand Trunk Road 🛣️ I started my trip in Peshawar, Pakistan and travelled across India and into Bangladesh. I finished this trip with a month in Nepal before flying to Kazakhstan to begin a journey around Central Asia.

Travelling is my biggest passion; I've travelled to around 50 countries so far and love meeting new people, hearing their stories, learning about different cultures and having different experiences 🗺️

I enjoy being outside, particularly on long walks or hiking in nature, especially when they end with a nice spot to camp 🏕️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet local or like-minded people and experience the real culture of countries, not the tourist spots that everyone else goes to.

Music, Movies, and Books

Unsurprisingly, my favourite kind of books are travel related. Anything that involves adventure! Not only do I enjoy reading about travel, I also love to hear other people's travel tales and experiences or to learn new things about their culture.

Learning about new cultures and traditions is an important part of why I travel as much as possible.
