Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Daniel and I'm a Toronto-born lefty aries queer animation filmmaker. I've just come back from a year living in Melbourne AUS and now back in the home country to become Canadian once more...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet great new people in great new places. Like most people on CS, I find couchsurfing a much richer way to get to know a place and culture than alternative bed situations. And it's also nice to make new friends from different continents which I find to be really valuable. I also like the process of travelling through homes rather than impersonal hotels or even AirBnBs. I feel much more comfortable in a place staying in a home, and I hope to be able provide that same experience when people come to where I am.
Interests
Films, banjo, piano, swimming/mermaiding, cooking, water features of every form, truffle mushrooms, mermaids, astrology, Frida Khala, bossa nova, languages, geography, geology, feminism, queer things, socialism, architecture, eating, plants, dogs, social justice, sustainability, Judaism
Music, Movies, and Books
A sucker for any new content people tell me about, but love Bossa Nova and R&B, any Natalie Portman movie, and any John Irving book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've passed out on a Toronto subway during rush hour, and I peed while swimming in the Ecuadorian Amazon (in spite of having clear knowledge of the Amazon penis fish)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach principles of animation! And I am generally very curious, so I'm interested to learn about anything. I would love to learn new cooking techniques and new languages. I'm also very interested to hear insider information on local politics. And coffee.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer myself as a tidy curious housemate who would be happy to cook vegetarian things or pretend to be your rich successful boyfriend at your high school reunion.
