About Me
hi.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
there are two main reasons
1. I believe that there exists a profound differenence between travelling and visiting. When one is travelling, they just pass through spaces - maybe take a few pictures or read up on a building nearby in their guide but eventually just glimpse over, avoiding deeper interaction with the surroundings beyond their usual thinking.
In constract to that, there is visiting when one takes the time to dwell into the environment, absorbs the atmosphere and attempts to obtain more perspectives on what they see (or don't).
I travel most of the time, yet I'd love to visit.
This is the principal reason why I'm on Couchsurfing as it enables to get in contact with beautiful local people who are the one creating a city - truly visit and not just pass through.
2. I admire Couchsurfing as a site which is trying to surpass the profoundly consumerist and technocratic mindset which is ominpresent around us. Cheers to that.
