About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Current Mission? To experience food around the world and country. And to meet new and interesting people in the process.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently a culinary student in Hyde Park, New York. I'm 22 years old. I love meeting new people and exploring new places. I'm pretty easy to get along with. I'm very mild tempered. I'm really not sure how to describe myself. I've never found that easy to do. But please, talk to me, ask questions. I think that might be easier.

PHILOSOPHY

There is no reason not to be happy. Live your life, make friends, eat good food. Be happy.

Interests

I love food and everything involved in it. I'm interested in the other arts as well. I enjoy all types of museums and exhibits. I love the out doors too though. Hiking, Camping, and biking lots of fun to me. I'm really very open to anything. Most of all though, I enjoy good company. There is nothing better than sitting around and having a good meal and good drink with good company.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) In 2008 I spent two weeks hiking in the Swiss Alps with a group of about 20. It was easily the most amazing experience of my life. The air. The Mountains. The stars. The Weather. The triumph of a days march with 50# packs. The happy exhaustion of setting up camp and making dinner. I have never been in a more beautiful place than the Alps. I yearn to go on another hiking trip like that one.

2)A few months ago I went to a Van Gogh exhibit in Philadelphia. This was probably the most inspiring and fulfilling art exhibit I have ever been to. The reason it was so incredible was because I overheard a man eagerly describing the pieces to his wife. He knew his stuff. So I talked with the man and followed him around as he explained what was going on. I have never experienced art in this way before. He really showed me how many different levels these pieces are working on. His excitement and energy was infectious. Never, has art been this engaging for me. I hope to always find someone like this to go to art museums with from now on.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently a culinary student so I have a reasonable amount of knowledge of all things food. I'd be happy to pass on my passion to others. But don't expect any world class cooking from me. I'm still fairly inexperienced.
