Hello there! Daniel is my name and food is my game! I have recently returned to Edinburgh after studying in Finland for two and a half years to be a chef. Having lived in Finland before, I thought it was a exciting option to pick the language up again and take in the culture now that I'm an older, sociable person. Being back in Scotland has been great with new prospects and goals in mind, but I also can't stop myself from wanting to head out into the world! Hopefully Ecuador will be my next stop and then the rest of South America.

Coming back, I've had a huge urge to meet new people with different stories to tell. Sharing interests and mixing cultures is an exciting activity that brings people together, and I'm all for bringing people together.

I love meeting new people, discovering new music, learning languages and speaking languages, getting to know people over bottles of wine or cups of coffees. Travelling and discovering new places is also definitely up there.

My favourite movies? From the top of my head I can list The Departed, Babel, Snatch, Gone Girl, Trainspotting and without a doubt, My Neighbour Totoro. I unfortunately haven't got myself into more Studio Ghibli movies but it is definitely something I'd love to do.

My favourite genres of music are definitely blues, jazz, latin, motown, funk, classic rock, acoustic bands, rap, hip-hop, electro and everything else that makes that foot go tap-tap and those hips go swish-swish. Artists that I keep on coming back to are Grupo Niche, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Flying Lotus, Notorious BIG, NAS, Gorillaz, Bon Iver, Caribou, Sufjan Stevens, Hot Chip, Justice, Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamarr.

I will do my best to teach anyone that is willing to learn Finnish in exchange that you will speak Spanish to me as I haven't been able to use it as much as I would like to!
