ABOUT ME
All about me? Really? I guess I like long walks on the beach, a picnic at sunset... :P
Seriously, um, what can I say? I like music, art, theatre, video games, learning foreign languages, and living and working abroad. My friends would likely vouch for me that it's all true.
I may not yet have a master plan for my life (who does, really?), but I think what I'm doing now is pretty good.
Interests
A list seems like the way to go here...
1) Music: I learned how to play piano and guitar at various times of my life, but now I mostly devote time to enjoying the artistic output of people vastly more talented than me. What kind of music do I like? Music that makes me happy to be alive-- and that covers a lot of genres.
2) Learning foreign languages: When I lived in Korea, I learned Korean. As I write this, I'm living and working in Indonesia, and trying to get myself conversational in their national language. I've been intermittently working on my French, and perhaps one day I'll study French in France. That would be cool.
3) Playing video games: I don't do this as much as I used to, but I especially enjoy trying more "out-there" indie games.
4) Wandering out-and-about: I enjoy walking around the cities in which I live and discovering all the little things that we miss as we zoom by in cars.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Stumbling upon some sort of street pageant while wandering back to my hotel in Taipei, Taiwan. There were no event signs, no corporate sponsorships, no other tourists, a fairly small local crowd, and yet, this was one of the grandest, most amazing spectacles I have ever seen. The costumes, the firecrackers, the music, the choreography... Just amazing.
2) Walking into Angkor Wat near Siem Reap, Cambodia. That first moment when you walk through the gate and catch a glimpse of the main complex is indeed awe-inspiring. But more amazing might have been exploring the overgrown, relatively little-touristed Beng Melea (and scrambling over, around, and under the structures), or being nearly alone at the Bayon at sunset.
3) Looking down from one of the peaks of Seoraksan in Gangwon Province, South Korea. An amazing view, after a long, hard climb. Of course, there were higher peaks promising even grander views, but this was OK for now.
