I'm a father of two pre-teens, which takes up most of my time. Before I became a parent, I was spending much of my time dancing and doing photography. Now my photography is mostly of kids and friends, and my Whole Earth Festival community.
During the year, my wife and I sponsor international students in order to expand our family's exposure to different cultures, and to help support our kids' education.

Occasionally, the rest of the family will take trips to visit my wife's family in Norway, and we have available beds. I enjoy having company in the house, and want to support those who want to explore this area without having to pay the high price of housing. When I was younger, I never thought about visiting different areas/cultures because of my family's limited budget - I hope that I can help host today's explorers.

I enjoy most genre of music - a little of everything. I don't get to movies very often, but recent ones I enjoyed are Ladybird, The Big Sick. Classic films that come to my mind are MP's The Holy Grail, Casablanca, Play It Again Sam, Sense & Sensibility, Love Actually, Tampopo, Shall We Dance, Eat Drink Man Woman, Mr Bean films.

I've done photography since high school, and have hundreds of thousands of negatives over the past four decades. I'm in a continuous project of scanning these images, and sharing them on Facebook. It's been amazing to hear from people I haven't seen in 40 years - the images bring up life that has been forgotten.

I grew up in San Francisco, but I've made more international friends here in Davis. It's a smaller, friendly community, which is the reason I have my house here and raising my family here. I love having visitors and sharing my space.
