Overview
About Me
I'm Dan, born and raised in England, and now looking for a place to live in Germany with my wife. We are looking for a community of some form to join, I think that living more closely together in community is a healthier and "better" way to live than the isolated and individualised lives that are so common.
I am interested in regenerative lifestyles and practices, and when I lived in New Zealand I learnt about permaculture and many topics related to this about growing organic food, fibres and fuel, localism, and community resilience.
Interests
I enjoy exploring a new city on foot (free walking tours are amazing), I like the feel you get for a city in this way, and seeing the interactions between people and how they use their city. I usually have a camera with me, and like street photography, though sometimes I get a bit scared of doing it myself it can lead to some interesting conversations.
I love food (both cooking and eating), and love to find interesting places to eat good food. I like to try local cuisine, but don't feel that I have to eat authentic local food for every meal - the best and most authentic local food is always home cooked though, and I am always happy to contribute my 'skills' towards a meal.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading, and think it is a great way (through both fiction and non-fiction) to learn about people, places and events. Some of my favourite books are:
- One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
- Black lamb and grey falcon by Rebecca West
- The old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway
- The summer book by Tove Jannson
- Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges
I am open to most music, I mostly listen to hip-hop (Flying Lotus, J Dilla), jazz (John Coltrane, Charlie Parker), RnB, electronic...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share what I believe I know about permaculture, community living and organising, maybe teaching a little and learning at the same time. Discussions on all topics are welcome, and I love to learn about new things from people with a passion for them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a meal, conversation and a calm and clean presence.
