About Me

CURRENT MISSION

After our wedding, my wife and I bought a house. The renovations have been tiresome and kept us stuck in one place.

Currently, we want to explore some new places and finish the house so we can open our doors back up and see some fresh faces.

ABOUT ME

I'm a freelance writer. I like to read, try new food, hike up big rocks and chill out on warm sand.

PHILOSOPHY
Be nice to people. Ask questions. Go somewhere nee each year!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my little bit of experience with it, Couchsurfing has been a fascinating way to meet "real" people and get new experiences.

I haven't made a new Couchsurfing friend in a few years, but I kept the account because I always hoped to come back to it. Couchsurfing is a great way to travel affordably for those who are willing. I'm willing.

Interests

I like reading novels and compelling non-fiction. Hemingway is my favorite novelist and I think Krakauer might be my top non-fiction author.

Road trips are my favorite form of travel. I'm pretty damn good at them too. Pull out the atlas and we'll plan your next trip in an hour!

I'm a professional freelance web writer. I'll give any host a free website audit or edit up 2,000 words FOR FREE!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm getting into the blues a lot and I like classical, but I'm no musical expert. I'll listen to classic rock, hip-hop, pop, alternative, and recently I have discovered that I really enjoy country when cruising.

A couple movies at the top of my list are The Silence of the Lambs, The Amistad, and The Departed. I really like documentaries, too, and I recently bought Dances with Wolves for $5 and I've got to watch that soon also.

Top 3 Books: For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway, Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, and Beloved by Toni Morrison.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In August of 2013 I took my mother and grandmother to visit the Grand Canyon. When the monsoon rains came and cleared out the South Rim, I had--as far as I could see--the entire Grand Canyon to myself. In my experience with travel, I've seen the Everglades, the Pacific Ocean, the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and an array of amazing geological structures, but nothing was so serene as enjoying the lip of the world's greatest canyon all by myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to write and am a good editor for friends who also enjoy writing. I love playing cards, too, and can teach others how to play a small arsenal of cardgames (or teach them how to play those games better).
