I fell in love with the outdoors when I moved down to Fayetteville a couple of years ago. In my free time I love to run, hike, bike, backpack camp and kayak around Fayetteville. Indoors I love to cook, and one of my favorite things is hosting friends for a meal. Always on the lookout for a good local brewery or roaster. I'm usually trying to cross another National Park off my list when I'm traveling. I love Couchsurfing for the perspective and advice I get from local hosts, and love to return the favor for any Surfers in my area.

For music I love folk, indie pop, post-rock, rock, jazz, pretty much anything but country.

I love a good documentary, a wry comedy or a good drama. I'm a giant wimp when it comes to any horror-type movies. Favorite TV shows are Mad Men, 30 Rock & Arrested Development.

I'm a big reader. Last few books I enjoyed were: A Walk in the Woods, Thru Hiking Will Break Your Heart, Walden, Dead Broke with Two Goats, Eat and; Run and In Defense of Food.

Thru-hiked the John Muir Trail through the Sierras over 18 days. It was the most beautiful place I've ever been, and I met some of the coolest people on earth.
