ABOUT ME

I am a semi-retired writer, journalist, tv producer, nature, teach, chef and dog owner, taking my very first drive across the USA, NY-California. I've lived in New England, New York City, London and spent some time in Europe, and Rio de Janiro. I've never been to the southwest US and am looking forward to it. I'll be travelling in a retro-fitted conversion van with my Golden Retriever, Riley, 10-yrs-old. I have a limited income pension and need to be very frugal. I plan to stay a while in the Palm Springs area and then cross into Mexico.

PHILOSOPHY

The Golden Rule is the basis of my personal philosophy. Buddhism attracts me more and more every day but I practice infrequently. I worship art. Taste and style are high attributes.Materialism is a wrong path, I tested it. I know! Like Albert Schwitzer, I believe in the sanctity of all life. I don't squash ants or squish spiders.

I'm currently listening mostly to world music, jazz and vocalists. Jamie Cullum I like a lot. I read fiction and non-fiction equally. I liked "The Incident of the Dog in the Night" very much.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I produced a TV special for Saudi TV of a NASA shuttle launch and landing. The shuttle is so loud it makes your body shake. I also covered the Environmental Summit in Rio in 1992. Met a lot of interesting people there, doing important work. Rio is beautiful, the contrast of poverty & affluence has to be seen to be understood.
