About Me

ABOUT ME

The seats of my pants are worn the hell out. This is one white boy who CAN groove. Fitness in body and mind is my daily personal goal, guided by my spirit. I have a tough time reconciling the fascist corporatocracy that America has become with the vision that many still hold, making it difficult to live in two worlds at once, so my best respite is in nature with a good friend or alone.

Interests

I like to spend my time exploring, whether that be my guitar, a new book, people's eyes and faces, new places, what have you. I'm into honesty and personal relationships and affiliations as opposed to corporate affiliation. I'm big into sustainability and it is a dream of mine bring a line of hemp clothing to fruition. I LOVE beach volleyball (have been a teacher), frisbee, hiking, running, juggling, doing backflips and cartwheels, treating my body well, breathing deep and plugging on when I feel like I can't continue, and smiling. Wildlife- I cannot get enough of bird watching, big game spotting, and such. Even just watching squirrels chase each other up trees will light me up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Realizing the depth of my Mom's love for me, and then realizing that she has that same capacity for each of her 9 children. Bathing in hot springs after a 6 mile hike through the Jemez mountains in January, situated 500 feet up a cliff, overlooking a valley and river, ensconced in mist and enveloped in the lichen hanging off the the evergreen trees like an old man's beard that filtered the sun in so many layers and in such a wonderful way; the ground was powdered white.

I once watched a sunset for 45 minutes on a mountain in New Mexico- There was a supercell storm in the shape of a brain coming in about 40 miles to the northeast, and as the western sun caught it, it changed from pink, to peach, to orange, to red, to violet, all the while expressing pastel displays of lightening, and then the mountains shadows finally ceased the color show as it faded to gray, and then white in the moonlight. After sunset, the streaks of electricity in the brain cloud might very well have been God asleep, and showing us the activity in his mind as the prefrontal cortex would get a strike, then the amygdala, then the neocortex and so on... Truly incredible.
