Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

Make children say "Wow he's amazing!"

ABOUT ME

Oh damn... I'm just tired, and bored... life becomes so ordinary if I'm not careful. Come on, let's do something crazy. Few clothes and lots of screaming! And I'm not talking about sex. It's even funnier without sex. Like jumping of a cliff or something... yes... gotta jump of a cliff...!
Don't be deceived by my "Location", borned and raised in Costa Rica. Surely you have a stereotype (good or bad) for Latinos, no? Well be careful, I'm white, kind of blonde, and punctual. Hardly fitting the Latino stereotype. I studied informatics, electronics, and I'm an enthusiast chess player. What? A nerdy stereotype? But I'm a fearless climber and mad biker too! Then I should fit in the nerdy-sporty-Latino box... right...? Hmmm, maybe... but I'd be careful with boxes if I were you, I have more surprises up my sleeve.
Oh and I'm also a hypnotist. Yes. Really. Have you ever been hypnotized? You'd be amazed.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to have a full list of experiences here, but I stopped counting after #30 (a long time ago). I lived in Girona, Spain, for a while. Near a RyanAir airport. We averaged 1.5 couchsurfers per night for 2 months! (The 0.5 couchsurfer was always funny, a random half of his body was selected to sleep outside.)

Here a quick list of the most memorable ones. I hope you are honored to be mentioned here. If you are going to surf my couch, I hope you are aiming to top the list ;)

2008, Dec: Got hosted, cooked for, AND got a Shiatsu massage from my host, Claire in France... my god that massage was HEAVEN!

2008, Apr: Full speed downhill with Bernat in Catalunya. The ride was so good that I had to jump of the bike 3 times (no sarcasm intended)!

2008, Apr: Saw ex-vegetarian Joseph (UK) try his first meatball at the age of 26. Funny idea... but then he combined it with baby octopuses, now that is shock therapy!

2008, Mar: Inadvertedly hosted a host-charming cooking competition! 2 canadian girls fought 3 german girls for the love of their hosts. Tough call.

2007, May: Dult festival in Regensburg. Tree climbing, table dancing, drunken Couchsurfers.

2007, Apr: Twin city meeting in Bratislava/Wien. Two countries, massive attendance, failed hitchhiking, hosted spontaneously.

2007, Feb: Met Toni, Katja, and Sandra in Lindau through HospitalityClub, they saved me from death by loneliness in Germany.

2006, Nov: Hosted a CS party/gathering for all CS travelers in Costa Rica. 6 different countries represented and the whole deal went down in spanish (I was impressed)!

2006, Nov: Hosted and toured the Caribbean for a week with two argentineans (Matias & Martin), crazy dudes, we had a blast.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I've experienced first hand the completely unselfish and unconditional help/friendship from a total stranger... It gives me hope for the world, and made my life so much brighter. Wait... we all have experienced that, this is Couchsurfing, right?
Cycled (alone) 2700km from Spain to Slovakia. Only camping and couchsurfing. Crossed entire Germany without spending 1 cent for accomodation, isn't that crazy?! I also started hallucinating from exhaustion/boredom.
Threw knives at a couchsurfer!
I hypnotized someone on the street without him even realizing!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can show you the passion of a sport, the thrill of battle, the psychology of competition... all on a board of chess. We can have a storytelling evening... in english, perhaps in spanish, but I'm not that colorful in other languages. We can also have a hypnosis session if you want to try it out.

I'm not only willing but eager to learn anything you can teach me, I love to learn!
