-> Why I do not Host yet?
The reason why I decided not to host right now is that I am new to the couchsurfing community and only have a small one-room student appartement. Before I am able to comfortable host others I would like to get first impressions on the couchsurfing procedure. I think the experience I will hopefully gain soon will make me a better host in future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First, because I think traveling is the best way to get to know other countries and to learn their cultures and background. When I traveled through South-East Asia I often used hostels and aribnb and always met new people from all around the world. It was always fun to exchange experiences an tips. However, I never tried couchsurfing before because I recently just found out that there is a community for it. But I think I will use it in future even more :-).

Secondly, I would like to carry out some research related to Couchsurfing for a media studies research seminar at the University of Mannheim / Germany. Since I like to travel a lot, love to meet new people and to get to know foreign cultures I have chosen this newfound community for my research project. I think it is a great platform to meet other travel-enthusiastic people to exchange experiences or even a couch to stay. I am new to this community and haven´t started my research yet but looked around a bit to understand the procedures and rules of this community. I haven´t tried Couchsurfing yet, but my day may come!
