I'm not very good with self-descriptions, but I would say I am an easy going person, goofy, sometimes shy. Moving from Brazil to Canada opened my perspectives about life, work, people and possessions. Moving away from my comfort zone was an experience that I really needed.
I love travelling, reading, going to the movies. Pets are a passion.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CS. I surfed twice, and both were great experiences. I am really excited about CS.

Interests

History, photography, music, museums, nature. But my main interest is the world itself. Its peoples, geography, landscapes, stories.
I am very passionate about social and human rights.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can enjoy almost every kind of music, it only depends on my mood. Nowadays I've been listening to Brazilian popular music, but I like rock, reaggae, classical, and the list goes on and on.
Movies: my favorite movie of all times is Girl, Interrupted. I love Hotel Rwanda,Lord of the Rings, The Shining, Star Wars, Into the Wild, V for Vendetta, super hero movies like The Avengers, Thor, Iron Man.
About books, I have a preference for Brazilian literature, such as Dom Casmurro, Senhora, Gabriela, Capitães de Areia, and so on. But I also like African literature, LoTR, and juvenile books like Hunger Games, HP, Percy Jackson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to a new country without knowing much about the language. It was the best thing I ever did.
Marching in my city protesting for women's rights and feeling like we were all sisters.
Making friends with a former member of the FARCs who dropped them to sell handcraft in a Brazilian beach.
Surviving in this crazy world we all live in.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about Brazilian situation from an inner perspective, I can teach you some soccer rules, how to make a Caipirinha. But I also can tell you how the sky looks like in my city, and how the kids run free and play even if they don't have much to eat or enjoy. I can tell you many stories of my culture, if you'd like to know.

I can tell you all of that just because I love hearing back the same kind of story. Knowing people and their culture is what makes me want to travel.
