Overview
About Me
My name is Daniel and my passions are creativity and travel. They guide all decisions I make in my life. I design websites and work with interesting clients around the world.
I'm passionate about traveling slowly, traveling by train, meeting people along the way and enjoying local things. I understand why some things become touristy and worth it, but I largely want to know what you think is great about your city and do that.
In return I would like to be a good ambassador as an American traveler and a good guest for you to host.
I say "I," but really it's "we" now. My wife and I travel together and I'm introducing her to the world of Couchsurfing and how much better traveling is because of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Checking boxes and taking selfies will never leave the same lasting impressions as shared conversations, beers, and experiences with someone who calls that city home. This has been proven to me time and time again. In my experience, cultural exchange IS the way.
In particular, I love going to our host's favorites restaurants, bars, book stores, parks, you name it. I enjoy a good hike or discussing music, practicing languages, and talking about what makes their culture different than mine.
Interests
I work with a lot of startups and companies doing interesting work. I enjoy building websites that help raise awareness for causes and working with people who are driven by something greater than themselves.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a Nine Inch Nails concert just as much as I love Beethoven's 3rd.
I love reading about language and history. I enjoy authors from Murakami to Bourdain.
I'm not a big movie person, but I appreciate a great film, especially documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I competed in an eleven team race through Europe with my mother. We hauled ass and got 4th place. Not bad considering we started in last.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you to cook, strum a song on the guitar, improve your design skills, and of course, teach you about Minneapolis.
