About Me

I am originally from the beautiful city of Colima, in the Pacific Coast of México, where I grew up until I moved to Querétaro and then Mexico City to do a bachelors in Earth Sciences. During that time I also lived a couple of summers in Vancouver, Canada where I met a lot of very dear friends from all over the world with whom I keep in touch to this day. After graduating, I worked for a few years in topics of renewable energy and sustainable development, until I decided I wanted to pursue a masters in Europe. Now I live in Hamburg, Germany where I am doing a degree in Climate Sciences and I am taking every chance to travel around Europe and to get immersed in so many places, cultures, languages, histories, etc.

I love learning and experiencing new things, and meeting new people, and traveling is such a nice way to do that. I am always up for having a good laugh, doing something interesting or challenging.

Museums, art, dancing, reading a book in a park, walking (or cycling) around a city stopping at every corner, visiting historical landmarks, getting coffee... I am all for that! I think I am a big nerd, but a sort of cool nerd... I hope? haha.

I believe peace needs empathy and understanding, and travelling helps us develop both.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new cool people from all around the world, be it at home or abroad.

Right now it's a bit difficult for me to host, as I am back to being a student renting a room in a shared flat, (I hope that changes soon) but I will gladly show you around Hambug. Museums, landmarks, drinks, cycling I am up for it, just hit me up.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tough questions to answer, but alright...

Music: Bach, I like my romantic composers, Ben Howard, Bon Iver, Archive, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, FOALS, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Mingus, Monk, Ellington, Parker, Ska-P, Buena Vista Social Club, the list goes forever...

Some music I listen, some music I play and some I dance. Rock, indie, salsa, blues, etc., it's all good.

Movies: The Big Lebowski, Cohen Brothers films, Blade Runner (and 2049), Roma, Amores Perros, Birdman, Visages Villages, any Monty Python film, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, In a Better World, Mot Naturen, Okuribito, Chinatown

Books: Cien años de soledad, L'étranger, Rayuela, Conversación en la Catedral, Steppenwolf, The Invention of Solitude, Travelling with Herodotus, King Lear, etc, Los Detectives Salvajes, .

If it's real, if it's well crafted, I enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked to the top of an extinct volcano in México, " el Iztaccíhuatl". When I got to the top I could see for miles and miles inland, but I was so tired I had to lie down and fell asleep a couple of minutes, right there on the summit. When I woke up, there were clouds all around and a little bit lower, so it felt like waking up from a dream into another dream. Also, quite scary.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very easy and I can adapt to your schedule, to take as least as possible of your time from your daily duties. Although if you're available, I would love to hang out sometime.
I can cook you a mexican traditional meal. And I always always keep the place where you let me stay, tidy and clean.
