About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Building a clean/efficient/sustainable energy company in Austin, saving the world through economically rewarding changes.

ABOUT ME

Free and exciting. I love fun, and have a genuine interest in people and their interests. Like most surfers, I'm in a discovery time, finding my way in this world, figuring out how I can make a dent in the universe.

PHILOSOPHY

The three most important things in my life are freedom (autonomy), impact (positive change for others), and relationships. I believe in the infinite human spirit, that any person can do and be anything they commit to, excepting physical limitations, and even then with enough ingenuity people can overcome those. I trust people and expect trust from them, and I feel like to live one must grow. Stagnation is not an option.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I spread smiles and hugs wherever I go, and a wealth of knowledge and skills that I share generously. I love to take in the local scenery and culture wherever I wind up!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Four years ago I backpacked around Europe and surfed on one couch, staying in hostels mostly. Incredible experience. Three years ago, I motorcycled across the country to California and back to Virginia, where I just stayed on couches, usually friends of friends or meeting people in person. Over the past 5 months I had my first experience with couchsurfing.org, and it turned out amazing! Round Two of the motorcycle trip will have three people! The Amigos! The trip wouldn't have been anything like it was without such a great community as couchsurfers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learned to ride motorcycle in 30 minutes in a parking lot before taking the road test and then embarking on a 6300-mile month-long motorcycle journey that included getting a tattoo, sleeping in a park as part of the Occupy movement, learning to surf, meeting an executive in Jynga (farmville), being handcuffed for being mistaken for a drug-runner, and much much more.
Last summer my two friends and I set out to have three times the fun, with 300% of the motorcycle gang!

Teach, Learn, Share

When you can subtly mirror another person's body language, it helps deepen the rapport you have with them, making them more comfortable with you.

Usually when someone shrugs and says "honestly..." or "to be honest..." it's a sign they may be not saying the entire truth (leaving something out) or downright lying.

People give and receive love and appreciation in five main ways, and have a tendency to only recognize in others and give to others in two of them. It can help relationships a lot to be aware of what another's love language is, and to look for signs that they are saying "I love you," in a way that you don't normally appreciate being loved, such as acts of service, but they never compliment you.

Lots more where that comes from!
