Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Daniella, currently studying economics in Bogotá, Colombia. I was born in the U.S. but grew up in Colombia. I speak Spanish and English fluently, and I’m learning German and Persian too.
I’m an easygoing and curious person who loves to explore new places and connect with people. I enjoy walking through cities, trying local food, and having real conversations about anything from daily life to more essential ideas.
Lately, I’ve developed a big interest in port cities, how they grow, how trade flows through them, and how they connect countries and cultures. It’s something I’m starting to explore more deeply in my studies. I think ports say a lot about how the world moves, literally and economically, and I love learning about how they shape the life and identity of a city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ll be traveling with my boyfriend Andrés to Germany in July and would love to connect with locals to better understand the culture and practice my German. Since we enjoy meeting new people and experiencing a place from a local’s perspective, we’d love to couchsurf during our trip. I will also be traveling for a few days in the Czech Republic since I'm very intrigued by its culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I've always loved Classical music, Rap, Pop, and Spanish music, especially Flamenco. Lately, my boyfriend got me into House and Electronic music. I love Ludovico Einaudi and his whole music journey, and one of my favorite singers is Pablo Alborán.
Movies: For some reason, I love movies about ballet. It's a kind of art I deeply admire. Therefore, I find The American, directed by James Napier Robertson, an amazing movie. Incendies from Denis Villeneuve and a short called The Red Sea Makes Wanna Cry from Faris Alrjoob I also love. Also, the Three Colors Trilogy by Krzysztof Kieślowski conquered my heart.
Books: Lately, I've been into Historical Fiction. I finished Maniac by Benjamin Labatut. Highly recommend it.
Other books I've loved are Buda Blues by Mario Mendoza and La mujer incierta by Piedad Bonnett, both Colombian writers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to volunteer in rural Colombia, creating projects for community development and vulnerable childhood protection.
I've fallen in love, which I believe is amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to practice my German and discover different cities the most local way possible. I'm a person eager to learn from everything around me.
I'm not the best cook, but there are some Colombian sweets I could get you so that you can try something straight from my country. I also love trying food, so I would appreciate it if you please could point me to a really local gastronomic experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a Colombian, I always try to bring warmth, friendliness, and a sense of community wherever I go. I love sharing a bit of my culture, whether it’s through conversation, music, or just good energy. I’d be happy to teach you some Spanish, or show you how to dance a bit of cumbia or salsa.
