Lived in Maryland my whole life, started traveling overseas in 2015. Found that traveling abroad can become expensive fast if not done properly. When my mate and I separated last year (2018) I wanted to do more traveling so I joined couchsurfers to help facilitate that in an economical fashion. My last trip to the Netherlands in February was planned using couchsurfers and was a pleasant experience. I have not hosted anyone yet but was hoping to branch out in that way as well. I have been looking to see people coming to town and offering to host. I have not had any takers yet but realize the hesitation because I am fairly new.
