Hello! My name is Danielle but you can call me Dany. I just graduated form American University in Washington D.C. I studied film and graphic design while in school. About a year ago, I studied abroad in Prague at FAMU. While there I created a short narrative film and got to travel around Europe. It was amazing!

Currently, I am the communications intern at the National Peace Corps Association. I also work as a barista. I love coffee and espresso. My favorite drink is a Cortado because it is the perfect milk to espresso ratio! But I also enjoy a good cappuccino.

I am also working on creating a short documentary series on black american expats. During my research it became very apparent that a lot of black americans who left the U.S. came to France as well as Germany. The documentary that highlights the great black american expats like Josephine Baker, Eugene Bullard, and James Baldwin (my favorites).

I want to come to Paris and experience the culture and people that famous black expats fell in love with!
I used couchsurfing while in Berlin last year and loved it. It is a great way to meet people and learn more about your global neighbor. My hope is to use courchsurfing as a way to meet french people and understand the culture. I also want to practice my french.

Interessi

I enjoy taking photographs and making short videos. I also like to paint, cook and read. Recently I read 1984.

Fun Fact #2: I used to have a radio show while I attended university. I listen to indie, pop, rock, dance, and hiphop. My favorite band is MuteMath.

Some of my favorite movies are: The Godfather, Godfellas, Waltz with Bashir, Interstellar, Whiplash, etc.

Some of my favorite books are: 1984, Cat's Cradle, Song of Solomon, Anna Karenina, etc.
