About Me

I Grew up on this small island called Gabriola which fostered in me a love for the outdoors, coastal and community living. I've spent my life thus far gathering a plethora of experiences many of my favorite having to do with exploring coast lines. I like finding remote beaches and forest trails with little to no footprints on them.

Right now I live in a tiny cabin with my boyfriend and dog. I've been really in to growing food in our garden and working on projects around the yard. I run an outdoor adventure program for homeschool kids and participate in an in-school mentoring program. I teach yoga and recently travelled to France to do a yoga retreat as part of my yoga teachers training. In the summer I kayak guide and teach kids kayaking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So much of travel is making a connection with the places you find yourself. Letting them change and effect you. There is no better way to get to know a place than to be invited into the homes of its people.
I think that places make people and people make places. You cannot truly know one without the other.

As a Traveller: I have never officially couch surfed before but any time I have travelled the most amazing people have offered up their homes as a safe place to sleep, eat and recharge before carrying on. In these times I have been overwhelmed by gratitude. Not only did this lead to many lasting, important friendships but also lead me to places I needed to go and experiences I need to have that I never would have found staying in a hotel room by myself.

As A host: I enjoy showing people the places I love and opening my home to share meals, stories and laughter.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of Music, Movies, Books and Art.
I am always open to hearing, seeing and reading new things that open me up to new ideas and differing preferences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To celebrate the life of my partner and best friend I got rid of most of my material possessions, moved into a minivan and started to travel following my heart wherever it wanted to go. I went all over BC and into the United States went to over 9 music festivals (including burning man) becoming part of a traveling nomadic community. I met people and explored places and heard music that blew my mind and transformed whoever I thought I was into something I never could have imagined.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a meal, a laugh, a story and the pleasure of having another part of the world come to your doorstep.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Mexico, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands
