ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Danielle! I'm a dreamer and a wisher and a thinker with a witty sense of humor. I am pretty quiet, very patient and respectful, but I love a good time spent with like-minded, creative, individuals. I have been a vegetarian for the past 8 years and gluten-free for the past year. I love to cook healthy meals, but I also have a weakness for sweets! I am a Lifetime Girl Scout, having been involved with scouts since I was in 1st grade. I also have 8 years of experience as a camp counselor. I was born and raised in Connecticut, but have dreamed of becoming a California girl since I first visited the state 10 years ago. Now, here I am, ready to take the adventure of a lifetime to make my dreams come true!

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything twice.

Here is my reasoning: If the first time was awful, the second time might be amazing; and if the first time was amazing, well, isn't that reason enough to make you want to do it again?!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved to CA and I am currently staying with relatives while I look for a full-time job. Right now, I am only here to surf and meet up with people but when I eventually get my own place, I would love to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am relatively new to Couchsurfing, having only surfed with a few people in the last couple of months on my cross-country journey. I've met/stayed with awesome folks in Oklahoma and Arizona - people that I truly consider new friends. I have really enjoyed meeting people and being welcomed into their homes.

Intereses

Reading, writing, poetry, cooking vegetarian food, crafting, enjoying nature, spinning (indoor cycling), going on long walks, visiting quirky landmarks, touring famous houses, visiting cemeteries.

I LOVE to read!! I enjoy classics, coming-of-age novels, novels about female friendship, and books about roadtrips - fiction or nonfiction.

I like quirky, artsy, non-mainstream movies, such as Sundance Film Festival movies. I tend to favor movies about coming-of-age or finding oneself. I also really enjoy documentaries.

I am willing to give any genre of music a listen. I enjoy an extremely wide variety of tunes. Seriously. Try me.

Algo increíble que he hecho

This past June I took a solo drive to see The Natural Bridge, one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World, in Virgina. I had first seen it in a painting by my favorite artist, Fredrick Edwin Church, at one of the Smithsonians in D.C. Seeing the magnitude of the Natural Bridge with my own eyes was breath-taking. One of the most magnificent things I have ever seen.

I would like to learn more about gardening and gain a better grasp on some computer technology.
