About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To leave as much good as possible for the hereafter.

ABOUT ME

Ever curious, a hopeful polymath-in-training. I share my life with a woman more perfect than I could have ever dreamed.

PHILOSOPHY

Humans are here because nothing gets farting, fleeing, feeding, fighting, and fucking done better than the will to progress.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, travel, and share experiences. I'm always working to plant the seeds of creation, and I make sure to water the seeds planted in me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed several couches and have had a fantastic experience every time. I have yet to host as the requests I've gotten have all clashed with my schedule!

Interests

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the outdoors, philosophy and theory, the brain, mind, and computational sciences, languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are too many works to list here.
I like philosophically, psychologically, and humanistically rich works. I love those works that show us a previously unknown human experiences, that succinctly and effectively point out what we never realized we'd known before, or that inspire us with the suggestion of entirely new concepts.
In general, I like those works that challenge us to think of the world around and within us in a new and profound way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived a night in the wilderness in Yosemite national park, without a tent or any reliable supplies. It was incredible in a sublime and humbling way; what a beautiful nightmare!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer, and request from others, the whole of my knowledge and skills. I have taught cognitive science, mathematics, machine learning, programming for research and app design, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, all at a professional level. I'm an avid hiker and backpacker, and love to head to the woods with people. Before all else, I got involved in everything I do because of an overwhelming curiosity, an itch to know and create as much as possible, and I find that my most cherished moments are all discussions with people of a similar vein.
