ABOUT ME

My name, as you've probably guessed, is Dan. A few months ago I got bit bad by the wanderlust bug, and I've decided to act on it while I'm young, dumb, and single. Outside of Canada, I haven't been to any other countries outside of the US and I'm very eager to explore, meet new people, and learn about different cultures. While I may have stayed in-country my whole life, I still have a lot of cool stories and am more than willing to share them. I'd like to think I make friends easily, and I'm pretty open minded. I also don't mind a bit of hard work- I lived on my uncle's farm for a month, was in the military (before getting wounded) and I wouldn't say working as a firefighter is an easy task.

I hope to make new friends and see as much of the world as I possibly can. Touristy areas are all fine and well, but I've learned from my experience in the US that the best places are the ones off the beaten path and have considerably less flashy lights and money-sinks.

PHILOSOPHY

One of my friends told me this before stepping into a housefire once- and I've done all that I can to live up to those words: "Can't be scared."

For now, I'm simply traveling and don't have a couch to host people in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Like I've said- I've only lived in the US, but I have spent a brief time couch surfing and hitch-hiking. I even lived out of my car for 2 weeks.

Intereses

I enjoy hiking, exploring, drawing, hunting, and yes, like any other 20 year old male- I also like to play video games on occasion.

I work as a firefighter, and as a result I have seen a lot of amazing (and terrible) things. It's hard to put them down on one page, but if anyone is curious, don't be afraid to ask.

I can draw very well, if anyone's looking for lessons! Haha. I also know how to tie knots, I know outdoors skills, etc. Also, Enlgish is my native language and I've been told lots of people want to learn it- I'd be more than happy to teach people how to speak English.
