Overview
About Me
I’m an engineer living in Iceland working in a pharmaceutical company also with a professional interest in electronics and machinery. I enjoy exploring how things work and applying that curiosity both in my job and in everyday life. This year I’m planning to combine business with pleasure by traveling to a few countries in October and November 2025; some trips are for work, but also to take time off and enjoy new places, people, and experiences along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I’d love to connect with new people in new places, share experiences, and spend some time together, whether that’s chatting over a meal, exploring the city, or simply exchanging stories about life and travel.
Interests
I’ve been a member of an IPF-affiliated powerlifting club for the past seven years, and while I’ve had a few wins in competitions along the way, I’m currently taking it a bit easier in training due to an injury. Outside the gym, I really enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors, whether it’s short trails or longer walks in nature. I’m also into computer games, mostly RPGs and shooters, which I play to relax and connect with friends. When it comes to music, my taste leans toward electronic, industrial, and metal, sometimes on a slower and sometimes on a harder side.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favorite bands are Acid Mammoth, DJ Rozwell, Laibach, Satyricon, and Test Dept. I enjoy music that feels atmospheric, raw or powerful. As for movies, I’m drawn to directors with a unique and sometimes unsettling vision. I’m a big fan of Twin Peaks by David Lynch, as well as Riget (The Kingdom) and The House That Jack Built by Lars von Trier. I like films that go by an unclear scenario and leave a strong impression long after watching.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived a night hike over a mountain after mushroom poisoning with no sleep, and the next day swam across a huge icy mountain lake just to see if I can.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share a bit about Russian and Icelandic cultures, as well as tips on powerlifting, training, and sports nutrition.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to bring a small volcanic lava stone from the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption in Iceland as a gift. Besides that, I’m always glad to share stories and good company.
