ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Danilo and I'm 22 years old.
I'm Brazilian and my family is originally from Japan!
Currently I've been studying Management Enginering in Milan, Italy. But this is actually an exchange program, actually my home university is in São Paulo, Brazil.
The total duration of this program is 2 years, from Sept 2010 until July 2012.
Studying here has been quite an interesting and fun experience. I get to learn a new language, feel a different culture, meet friends from all over the globe, taste great food and see some of the most beautiful places in the world!
Traveling through Europe has been a lot of fun! But I also miss my family and friends in Brazil...
Before this experience, I've also lived in the US in two different opportunities.
The first when I was 15 and I lived for 1 year in Michigan with an american family and studied in an american high school.
The second when I was 19, during my summer break I worked for 3 months in the kitchen of a fast-food restaurant in a ski resort in New Hampshire.
Both opportunities were very special to me.

Other than that, I don't smoke, I'm a very calm, clean and relaxed person.
It takes me a while to become someone's friend, but after I consider someone my friend, then I know that I can always count on that person and that person can always count on me, doesn't matter how long we haven't talked to each other or how far apart we are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I've known CouchSurfing for a really short time. So, I haven't had the chance to participate in anything yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During my trips in Europe, I've been staying either in youth hostels or friends' houses.
But in the summer, a brazilian friend, who has been living in France, and I are going to Asia for one month. The places we are visiting are Hong Kong, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Singapore and Seoul.
And for this trip we have decided to CouchSurf! This way we can meet locals and see each city through the eyes of a local.

Interests

One thing that really interests me is eating good food! All my friends know about it!
I also enjoy running, even though I'm not very good at it...

Music, Movies, and Books

Usually I like watching either comedies or action movies. But I also enjoy watching animated movies. One of my favorite movies is Up!
One of the last books I read that I really liked is called Laowai, it's about a brazilian journalist who lived in Beijing, China for 2 years. She talks about the Chinese culture, life-style and much more. It made me really want to go to China someday.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The two most beautiful places I've been in my life were Capri, in Italy and Interlaken, in Switzerland. Just awesome.
