About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To survive

ABOUT ME

I'm a student and translator. I live with my awesome wife in Belgium. We're broke, but like to travel when we can.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not sure what my personal philosophy is... but I think the universe is much greater than what can be captured by empirical evidence and rationality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One time I got stranded in Tokyo. I was supposed to get on the last bullet train to Kyoto, but spent too much time eating a giant ice cream in an amazing ice cream bar, and when I finished, the trains were all gone. I thought I'd have to look for a hotel, but a friendly stranger let me surf his couch. It was super cool, because his whole family played violins and cellos, and they let me try them out!

Interests

Music, religion, history, literature, sports (Amurrcan football and baseball and basketball - that's right, I'm a total Amurrrrrcan)

I like to eat other people's cooking. I also cook sometimes, but I'm not so good at it. Don't believe my wife when she says I can cook. It's only because I totally cheat all the time, or I make really easy stuff.

I also like beer. And beer snacks. Note of caution: combining beer with tea does not work (i.e. boiling beer and throwing a tea bag in it).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove across Amurrca once. That was coo'.
Saw the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park.

Surfing in Japan was fun. I mean on the ocean, not on couches. Barbecuing on the beach afterwards was more fun. At night, in the water, there were millions of glowing microbes. That was pretty amazing. It was like seeing fireflies underwater.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach arithmetic. I've done it before.
