I’m Danny, I’m British-American and a student at the University of Oxford taking some time to travel through the USA! I’m taking some time to explore where my family have lived and trying to soak in as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m a lowly student trying to explore my family history throughout America as a British-American. I love the country so much but have seen so little and would love to travel to all 50 states. I find a sense of tranquility in American cross country travel with wide open roads and a sense of freedom that you don’t feel in Europe.

Interests

As for what I like, I love rock and indie music, movies that make me pensive. Beyond this, I like hanging out with my friends and watching football, I also play football and tennis.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love anything with a guitar, predominantly indie/alt rock music like Radiohead, the Libertines, the Strokes and a load of others. I spend a lot of my time listening to music and playing guitar which is my main creative outlet.

For movies, I love a mind bender like the Prestige or Inception but where I can find time to sit down and put a movie on I revert back to mindless classics like Shrek 2 or even Shrek 1.

Finally, as for reading I adore non-fiction, anything to soak up knowledge and inform some intuitive understanding whether that’s related to mechanics, the history of the Mongol empire or whatever!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving in Lake Elsinore, CA from 20,000 ft. Absolutely terrifying but such an experience!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a competent cook particularly for Italian, Chinese or Spanish food. I can also play as much or as little as requested ;) and can converse for hours about anything abstract or otherwise.
