About Me

My Facebook Profile: https://www.facebook.com/dannygordon3004

Well, my name is Daniel and I am a student of International Relations, Italian and Spanish. I study in Scotland at the University of St Andrews and travelling is my PASSION!

I don't party nor do i drink alcohol or smoke, all my money goes towards travelling! I cant say I have a specific list of things I want to do in every city because I don't. Every city has its merits whether it be Museums, Parks or Castles. Whatever its merits, I want to see and experience them, first hand!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I am on CS because having had many experiences with Hotels (2 - 5 Star Hotels) and an equal amount of experiences on AirBnB, I can safely say, they do not provide what I feel to be the essence of travelling.

For me, travelling is about experience, about the creation of memories, about stepping outside of your comfort zone and ultimately, making friends the world over.

I had my first CS experience in October 2015, in Delaware, OH. It was incredible. My hosts treated me like family and I saw a side of Delaware no tourist would see without the insider knowledge. It blew all my previous experiences out of the water and can safely say I will be continuing to use CS for the foreseeable future.

Interests

My interests are varied and have grown somewhat over the years. They include;

Travelling, Learning about other people and their culture, History (particularly European History), Politics and International Relations, and Sports in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen Vladimir Lenin in his Mausoleum in Moscow. Irrespective of your political beliefs, few people have shaped history like he has.

Teach, Learn, Share

Without going into too much depth, I believe in Global Citizenship. I believe we are all citizens of this planet and for this reason, I will do anything and everything I can to help anyone.

Colour, Religion, Sexuality, Gender and so on have no bearing on you as a person, we are all the same at the very end of the day!

If I could pass anything on, to even one person, it would be to treat all people with compassion, you never know the battles they are facing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being so young, I don't feel I have half as much to offer as I'm sure the Hosts on CS do. Further, I feel well travelled, but clearly am not in the grand scheme of things!

What I know I can offer is an insight into all the places I have visited.
I can also offer and hold conversations on a wide variety of topics! My mother reminds me that when I was barely ten years old, my friend Ji-hoon said to her 'Does Daniel ever shut up?' Well, in short, No!

I can offer hours of conversation and a willingness to listen and also learn! If I'm visiting you in your home, I WILL respect your rules and most of all, will respect you and all members of the family (pets included, I mean, lets be honest, they are as much members of the family as humans!).

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Russian Federation, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
