ABOUT ME

Social work student from Sydney, Australia. Likes learning, listening, keepin it real. I'm very interested in politics, philosophy, art, all kinds of different thinking. I've done a bit of traveling before and enjoyed it, but importantly I like getting out of Australia and learning more about the world outside and myself. I've been living in a co-operative for the past two years so I'm very interested in co-operative living and making links with similar minded people across the globe. Any questions always happy to answer.

PHILOSOPHY

There's this great scene in Zorba the Greek, the book by Nikos Kazantakis, that sums it up to me. Zorba is walking along one day and sees an old man planting an almond tree. Zorba is surprised; 'but surely you are too old! You will be dead before the tree has even begun to blossom!'. For Zorba is the type of man who lives like every day is his last. The old man looks at Zorba, and replies 'it means nothing to me, for I live each day like I will live forever'.
I am that old man. I'm not in a rush to do anything. I want to take the world at a relaxed pace and stretch out my experiences over an infinite amount of time, slowly but surely.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new! Very excited to check it all out, I think the idea of creating voluntary communities outside of profit-driven hotels and hostels is excellent.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good! Done a bit of surfing and hosting, looking forward to doing some more.

Music is a real passion of mine. At the moment I'm going through a drum n bass, jungle, house music stage. In the past I've been big into:
- Punk.
- Darkwave, goth rock.
- Reggae and dub.
- Balkans folk music.
- Psychobilly, rockabilly.

If you know any musician out there taking risks and pushing boundaries let me know, it will probably be something I'd like.

- Pretty village, pretty flame.
- Zombie films.

I really like reading too. A lot of non-fiction (politics, philosophy). Otherwise China Mievelle, Dostoyevsky, Edgar Allen Poe, HP Lovecraft, Ismael Kadare, Nikos Kazantzakis and more.
