关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Eat, sleep, shit, and have some merriment in between those!

ABOUT ME

Recently while having my hair cut and staring into the mirror, I noticed that my right ear stuck out much more than my left. Also, a few years ago, I noticed that one eyebrow is slightly higher than the other. This makes it very difficult to find a pair of sunglasses that look good on me. Besides the trouble they make finding cute specs, my two defects don't vex me at all because I have really great hair and pretty green eyes, and I'm sure people would sooner notice those.

I am slight. Wee, teensy, schmall.

I am energetic, outgoing, and friendly, and I like most people I meet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard of couchsurfer when a friend and neighbor hosted an Australian guy who was traveling all over the US visiting the "B" cities. At first, I thought he was visiting cities that started with the letter B, like Birmingham, but I found out that he was visiting B-rated cities, those off the beaten path. I have much pride in my hometown, but I took this as a complement nevertheless. :)

While he was here, I co-hosted him to a certain extent and vowed to sign up myself.

音乐、电影和书籍

Just recently in the theatre I saw Batman and Wall-E, and I enjoyed them both. Why did it take so long for a decent movie to come out this summer? Geez! Right now, I'm reading two books at the same time because I'm not particularly into either of them. Slaughterhouse Five and some silly novel by Margaret Atwood about a middle-aged painter whose reflections of herself are grossly narcissistic. Can't remember the title. It's a type of marble. Last local act I saw was Chris Porter and Friends--the fiddler is my favorite of his friends, last famous act, Flaming Lips. That was certainly a spectacle.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Through the blinds of a friend's living room window, I saw Hurricane Katrina pull the roof off an apartment complex across the street.

Southern Linguistics: An Argument for the Usage of the Word Ain't. Every personal pronoun has a contracted negation except for "I"--for example he "isn't" and we "aren't". The closest thing the personal pronoun has is "I'm not," but this phrase is limited to the beginning of the sentence. You can't use it at the end: you can't say "amn't I?" It's in this instance that "ain't" should be used. Currently, it's acceptable to negate I am with I aren't, as in "I'm invited to the party too, aren't I?" This contraction is very wrong. Instead, we should all say, "I'm invited to the party too, ain't I?"
