Hi there!

My name is Danyang Guo. I grow up in Beijing, China and have been studying in the states for 3 years. I am open-minded, have broad interests, always up for adventures. I am sure we are going to have a fun time together.

I am currently a philosophy graduate student in New York, interested in aesthetics, ethics, Chinese traditional philosophy, etc.

I studied advertising before, and also more or less psychology. I did a thesis on the identification between video game player and game character.

I have been interning in several NGOs and would love to contribute more, especially interested in children education, art education, LGBT equalty, depression and mental health.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Some of my friends have had amazing experiences with Couchsurfing. I gradually begin to have more time traveling by myself, and I think Couchsurfing is a wonderful way of making some new friends around the world and knowing a new place in a sincere and deep way.

兴趣

My interests are mixed: on the one hand I like being quiet, enjoying time reading, watching films, go to art museums; on the other hand, I am very active, outdoor, very open to adventures.

I have a very strong interest in theatre and have been involving in acting and stage production during undergraduate. I have learnt modern dance for a year and fell in love with it.

I play a traditional Chinese instrument called Gu Qin (a string instrument). I do Chinese painting, although more in a casual, relaxing way. I haven't been spending much time on painting since I started my graduate school but I still doodle or sketch randomly, on papers or hand.

Meanwhile, I enjoy outdoor activities - climbing and bouldering, hiking and camping. I especially like skating (both ice skating and rollerskating) and skiing. They make me feel free.
