ABOUT ME

Let me see... I am quite social and outgoing, but also cherish my alone time to read and write, walk, bike ride, and explore. I love to teach and to learn. I worked with kids for ten years, and most recently taught science class afterschool to underprivileged kids.

I'm now a student in Public Administration and International Relations, living in Turkey for one year. I will return to the U.S. in May to finish my degrees and hope to become a diplomat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am interested in this idea of a global community formed via internet. I also like free things and barter. I think there should be more of that. We have become so alienated as a whole, that it is refreshing to see a way in which people can be open and willing to be engaged with others-- perfect strangers, except for the 'net.

I want to find others who are doing cool things and who also love to explore the world and their own home cities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed in three places in the northeast: Boston, Ithaca and New Haven. Ithaca was the best! I also couchsurfed with Rachel and Chase in Marfa, TX. Other random non-couchsurfing.com stays include the Royal Co-op house in Austin, TX and Nowe Miasto Co-op in New Orleans, LA.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping in a cave in Kappadokya in Turkey. Going to sleep at 5am one morning, i could hear the minarets playing their call to prayer. I was alone in a 12-bed dorm cave room, and the minaret music bounced off all the natural cave formations in the valley. Trippy.
