Overview
About Me
Now an empty-nester and have the time for traveling all over the world solo and with my kids and friends. I love meeting new people, seeing new places and spreading random acts of kindness all over the world. I love good food, cooking and sharing meals with friends and family. The more I travel the more I am finding myself paring down, simplifying life, finding joy in that. Exploring atheist Buddhism mindfulness and applying it to life. Really connecting to the world and everything in it through travel, camping, hiking, tasting, exploring and living.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like traveling lite and fast out of my car or backpack. I like the freedom it gives to be spontaneous and go where ever my little heart desires. I am self employed so trying to keep costs down as much as possible. I really like meeting new people from all over. When I am not traveling, I sometimes have space in my 1905 country in town house and love to have communal dinners and share hikes in the area, playing tour guide.

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music but some fav bands are Gogol Bordello, Brandie Carlile, U2, Braincloud, Red Hot Chilis, etc...Movies and shows- I don't watch much but when I do - Alone on History Channel, Food Network and NPR. Books - mostly hiking guidebooks, autobiographies, travel books, historical non-fiction and fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Given birth to my son at home naturally.
3 day solo hike/camp thru the 3 Sisters Wilderness and climbed South Sister at 10,360 ft.
Took my kids to Germany/Austria for 12 days to explore amazing things
Quite my job, sold my house and drove 5000 miles, car and tent camped solo for 29 days to all the Western National Parks this year 2018 and had a blast! Visited family and friends along the way, and I am ready to go again already.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make cordage from yucca, find some wild edible foods, show you how to whip up a great meal with whatever is in your cupboard like on the show "Chopped". Share with you some epic hikes and camping spots in Oregon, Utah or Glacier National Park. I would love to learn more primitive skills, more edible plants and to expand my knowledge of Spanish and German. I know basic phrases so far.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook up a great meal for you with whatever you have in your cupboards or can pick something up at the store if you would like. I am very neat and tidy and want to contribute in any positive way I can. Interesting conversations about just about any subject and laughter. I can also bring homemade apricot masala chutney made with apricots from my trees.
