I enjoy nearly any activity outdoors, but especially foraging, backpacking, and fishing.
I am from Colorado, and have been focusing my time on learning about plants, fungi, and fermentation science.
I just spent two months in Virginia as an intern at a commercial mushroom farm, and then another two months working at a fermentation business and apothecary.
I am a brewer of my own beers and wines, and make a mean kimchi.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I stumbled upon Couchsurfing.com with a travel companion, and have been hosted by some very neat folks. I would like to continue meeting people, and in turn welcome other travelers into my home. I now know how valuable it is to be able to find a fun, safe, and sometimes inspiring place to stay while on the road, and would like to offer others the same.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently packed up in a time frame of five days and moved across the country on a whim for an internship. This has given me a taste of impromptu travel, and I like it. I learned the value of Couchsurfers.com while beginning my travels again, and would like to use it on my way back home, and then open my own doors to other fellow travelers.

I have become a fairly accomplished brewer, grower of flowers, grower and forager of gourmet mushrooms. I can teach just about anything you would like to know about fermentation science. I have become well acquainted with the mountain region around my home, and can serve as a foraging or fishing guide.
I would like to continue to deepen my knowledge of the natural world, and learn more about herbal medicine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any knowledge or laughs that I can give, and I love to cook tasty meals with new friends. Good food, drink, and new friends makes for a good time.
