Hey guys! My name is Dasha (or Daria -- whatever is more comfortable for you to pronounce) and despite my age, I have already experienced some intercultural differences. First of all, I was born In Tolyatti, Russia, which is located next to Siberia and Kazakhstan (I haven't been there but very willing to visit). During my last year of high school, I was thinking that I wanted something different rather than just go to the 'bigger luxury' Russian cities like St. Petersburg or Moscow. So, I got accepted to the international university in Lithuania, moved there, and this is the moment where the journey begins :)

Unfortunately, I do not have much experience in terms of traveling but a willingness to travel around the world is all that matters, right?
As I came from the university with students from fourty+ countries, you can imagine I value the cultural differences a lot. For me, all inclusive holidays are the worst possible decisions you could make in order to explore the country! Who needs all these touristic guides who restrict you in your actions? However, at the same time, it is not enough just to 'look' at the city on your own; in my opinion, you need cultural and historical backgrounds in order to fully 'understand' it. Talk to locals, ask them about what happened at that place fifty years ago, and you might fall in love with the city/country!

Therefore, Couchsurfing might be the best option to explore a new place!
