About Me

Hey there! I’m Daria 🌻

I’m originally from Poland but have a serious case of wanderlust — I’ve lived in California, Spain, England, and now The Netherlands. I moved here in October 2024 and I’m still figuring things out and looking for my own cozy place and hoping to start hosting again soon!

I took a little break from Couchsurfing because of some health issues, but I’m back and super happy to reconnect with travelers and share stories again.

I became vegan in 2018, and that change shaped a huge part of who I am now. I absolutely love cooking colorful, delicious vegan food so if we meet, you can count on me whipping up something tasty!

Charlie Chaplin once said, “A day without laughter is a day wasted” and I really live by that. I try to find joy and humor in everyday moments, even the small ones.

I’ve got the soul of a traveler. Always curious, always looking for new experiences, cultures, and connections. I’d love to hear your stories (even if you haven’t traveled much but I think everyone’s got something interesting to share 💛🌻

Apart from traveling, I enjoy reading books, movies, and life in general. I can also teach you a bit of Polish if you’re up for a challenge 😉

So yeah, I’m Daria. A curious, kind, and slightly chaotic traveler who believes good conversations, laughter, and a nice meal can make any day better 💛

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling isn’t just about seeing new places. It’s about feeling them. It’s the people you meet, the laughs you share over a cup of coffee, and the small stories that stay with you long after the trip is over.

I’ve lived in California, Spain, England, and now the Netherlands, and one thing I’ve learned is that the heart of every country is its people. Couchsurfing is such a beautiful way to connect with that and to share not just a roof, but ideas, cultures, food, and kindness.

I joined Couchsurfing to meet open-minded travelers, exchange stories, and build meaningful connections that go beyond the usual tourist experience. Whether it’s cooking a dinner together, exploring hidden local corners, or staying up late talking about life, I’m all for it.

Life is one big adventure and I’m excited to share a piece of that journey with other curious souls who believe that home can be found anywhere, as long as there’s good company 💛

Interests

I love traveling ✈️, reading books 📚, watching movies 🎬, meeting new people 👋, hiking 🥾, exploring 🗺️, and discovering new restaurants 🍴. Every trip I take is a chance to experience something new, see the world from a different perspective, and make memories that last.

I’m passionate about connecting with people from all walks of life 🌏 Sharing stories, learning from one another, and enjoying life’s little adventures together.

Whether it’s wandering through a new neighborhood 🏙️, hiking a scenic trail 🌄, binge-watching movies 🍿, or savoring a delicious meal, I love doing things that make life feel full and fun.

If any of this resonates with you, I’d be thrilled to share these experiences together. Let’s laugh, explore, and create some unforgettable memories 💛🌻.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m a total Harry Potter fan ⚡ so I could watch the movies over and over and never get tired of them (same with the books)! I also enjoy action-packed adventures 💥, a good scary movie 👻, and diving into true crime stories 🕵️‍♀️. There’s something fascinating about exploring real mysteries and the minds behind them. Honestly, I love reading and watching movies so much that it’s hard to pick a favorite.

When it comes to music I’m all over the place. My mornings might start with some upbeat Harry Styles, and by night I could be rocking out to Metallica. I love letting music set the mood for whatever part of the day I’m in.

Life’s too short to stick to just one thing, so I like to mix it up, explore new stories, and let myself be carried away by whatever sparks my curiosity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I’ve ever done was leaving my country and moving to America with just $200 in my pocket 🌎💸 for an au pair program. I lived with a family I had only met over Skype. It was scary, exciting, and completely life changing. This true leap of faith taught me courage, independence, and the thrill of chasing your dreams and travel more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’d love to learn more about other cultures, and in return, I’ll happily share the wonders of Polish culture plus all the interesting things I’ve picked up from the countries I’ve lived in, like California, Spain, and England. You could say I’ve collected a little cultural treasure chest along the way.

Also, I’m a pretty good cook 👩‍🍳 (at least I like to think I am), so don’t worry you’ll never leave my place hungry.
