About Me

Embracing opportunities; no limitations, no regrets

ABOUT ME

A gentle, warm-hearted, patient person with a passion for wildlife and art! I really enjoy travelling.. especially when it is off the beaten track.

Before my first travels around the world for a year, I spent the first and best 6 years of my life in Bolivia: my childhood consisted of drawing, playing in the dirt, swamps, sand-dunes, streets, with friends, and being entertained by my big brother, while habitually interacting with the domestic and wild life on our forested doorstep. You don't realise your fortune until you grow up.
My name, appropriately translated as 'from the forest', seems to be my calling as I am drawn to this ecosystem and its indigenous inhabitants with a deep passion that grows at every moment! Even I surprise myself, its in my roots.

I dislike being bored so I tend to fill my days with everything and anything that attracts me, which means I end up not having any time to do nothing -€œ though I'm undecided as to whether that is a negative outcome!

I'm embracing what life is teaching me, I try to live in the moment, and grasp every opportunity I get.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I surf, couch, and meet others!

I have hosted at my uni; surfed in the UK, Western Europe and Morocco. I hope to do more now that I have graduated and can set foot to new adventures..

I have visited 21 nations, I feel I am quite well travelled and know how useful and welcoming the couchsurfing community is!

Interests

I spent the last year in Bolivia where i spent most of my time (half-heartedly job-hunting) travelling, meeting family and friends, and when stuck to Santa Cruz city I was involved 100% in rugby playing and coaching young ones, and dancing where I could.

I am a recent graduate at the University of Kent, where I spent most of my time taking part in many activities which include widespread involvement in conservation volunteering, being active in martial arts (MMA and Capoeira), rugby, archery, gymnastics, circus fun, and dancing (belly dance, bachata, kizomba and salsa)! I also cycle everywhere to enjoy my surroundings.
When I'm not running around I enjoy being out in nature, drawing portraits and wildlife, as well as being creative with string and designing my own clothes.
As you can see I try to pack my day with as many events as I possibly can! But when travelling it's a different story...

Music, Movies, and Books

Tribal, Spiritual, World Music! These are my foundations but I am open to a range of styles.
Avatar, Apocalypto, Pan's Labyrinth, Disney..
I haven't read much, but I love The Hobbit and The Jungle Book!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To name one.. a few years ago I spent time on a deserted beach in Cambodia. No need for clothes, just forest, white sand, clear blue sea, sun, thunder storms, fire, fruit, biting flies.. peaceful and primitive
I want more of it :]
