Hello!

I am Soukaina.

I I believe that travel, as well as meeting people along the way and surrounding yourself with the local culture, broadens the mind. That’s why I am here. I wouldn’t stand a narrow mind.

I am from Rabat, based in Malaga. I grew up near the sea and can only live in a coastal town, where the sun shines all year round. I usually travel to sunny places, for culture, art, food and nature.

I am a very chill person, an epicurean at heart. A nice walk, a conversation that flows naturally, a delicious meal in good company is all It takes to make me happy.

I enjoy trying new recipes and original restaurants. The first thing I do when visiting a new city is going to Its local market. After that, I start touring the museums and monuments, with coffee/tea/pastry/food breaks in between.

I have a passion for books -reading and collecting them.
I love poetry so most of my favourite writers are poets.

I like anything by Baudelaire, Paul Éluard, André Breton, Khalil Gibran, Mahmoud Darwich, Andrée Chedid, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Lorca, Miguel Hernández, Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath, Mary Oliver…

The last books I’ve enjoyed reading are : L’Arte della Gioia by Goliarda Sapienza, L’Amica Geniale Saga by Elena Ferrante, L.P Hartley’s The Go-Between.

As for my musical taste, It’s very diverse. My Spotify will give you an overview. @thesouzou

I like cinema, I mostly watch films d’auteurs. Indie over blockbusters! Really hard to choose a fav, but I’d say that Sans Soleil by Chris Marker really made me happy and jealous, wishing I could’ve been able to make such a beautiful visual poetry. I think Godard, Truffaut, Kiarostami, Wong Kar-wai, Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, Tarkovsky… are really talented.

There is a special place in my life and heart for Studio Ghibli movies. If I could invite one person to dinner or lunch, I’d be Hayao Miyazaki. He filled the world with so much beauty.
